NRA Basic Rifle (PLUS) ($300 per Person/8 Hour Course)
This is a course designed by the NRA, the gold standard in firearm education. Step up your rifle skills with our course and earn an NRA certification, marking both your growing expertise as well as your commitment to responsible rifle ownership and unlocking a new level of confidence and proficiency with rifles. Our expert instruction will guide you through the essential principles of rifle safety, proper grip, sight alignment, and trigger control. Develop a solid foundation of skills that will enhance your accuracy and control, setting you up for greater success with your firearm whether it be for defense, hunting, competing, or recreational shooting. The course is designed to provide practical, hands-on exercises designed to teach and reinforce your understanding of rifle operation, ammunition selection, and effective use in a safe, comfortable, and controlled environment.
Safety First, Always: This course includes a live fire portion, and safety is our utmost priority. There can be no live ammunition present until the live fire portion of the course. Our course emphasizes strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a secure and controlled learning environment. Participants neglecting to follow any safety rules may be immediately removed from the course. No refunds or rescheduling are ever possible for participants that violate the safety standards of Douglass and Locke, the Range where the course is taking place, or who may otherwise endanger any individual (including themselves) while participating in the course.
Participants only require a valid US ID
Eye protection, Ear protection, range fees, firearms, and roughly 90 rounds of ammunition is included in the cost per student.

A step by step breakdown of core concepts related to shooting, including but not limited to:
Eye dominance
Hand placement when holding different Firearms
Different shooting stances
A scaffolded escalation to ease newer or more anxious shooters, such as by
Using props to learn grip and stance
Using dry fire laser training to understand sight pictures
Using lower caliber firearms to reduce noise and recoil before moving onto more common calibers
Using a private bay at the range
